They're relying on the skill of the heli guys to keep it steady relative to the deck (I'd imagine that's a total bitch in even vaugely choppy seas) and the heli guys need them to... ermm... do whatever it is that they're doing with that hoop
Helps tie them down I guess?
Photography wise, the stillness of the body versus the motion of the blades is nicely balenced and there's something nicely moody about the way the choppy seas in the background have come out
It's a slight pity that the white whatever in the foreground is so plain but equally some foreground is nice and if you'd had a perfectly clear deck in the shot this might not have felt so urgent...
what they are doing attaching the extra nets, to be taken back to the ship they came from
Ah right, those nets they hang stuff from the bottom in, that makes more sense
